I didn't make Christmas cards this year as most of my card making products were boxed up ready to relocate into their new home. I did manage to keep a few bits out and my sewing machine was accessible so I did stitch a few things.
This is a tablet stand I made my dad but forgot to tell him what is was so he is now using it as a door stop!!!
What happened to 2017? Gosh it whizzed by. We had a lovely Christmas eve with both our boys and their girlfriends.
Today we have taken down the decorations. The house looks a bit bare and we have had the usual entertainment of trying to fit everything back into the boxes it all came out of 3 weeks ago!!
I got some lovely fabric from Lewis and Irene to play with. Hopefully the patchwork group that meets each month in the village can give me some ideas. We are making a charity quilt to raffle when we hold an exhibition in September. This is the square I have made for it.
Last month we had a few days down in Cornwall. The weather was HOT every day. We got out on our little boat and took it to St Mawes. (In between Donna and I is Chompy). St Mawes has visitor moorings so we took the opportunity to visit The Rising Sun and have a walk around before taking a slow journey back to Truro. We were a little longer getting back as we had to tow some people back to the marina as they had run out of fuel.
This is us going over to the Isles of Scilly. The Minnack theatre is just above Dale's head and the beach we visited a few days before is to the left of Gary's head.
A quick visit to St Michael's Mount. We went over on the boat but walked back across the causeway. However, we were a little quick setting off and had to paddle in a few places. The weather was hot but the sea was cold.
We have visited the theatre to have a look round before but when we booked tickets a few years ago it was rained off. We decided to try again and got tickets to see a production of The Vicar of Dibley. It was really funny and the weather was perfect. My favourite bit was when Alice did her 'you know I can't believe it's not butter'.
They also did bits between the acting. This is a photo from the beginning when they are setting the scene of the Dibley Fete.
