A sweet shop that gave out tasters.

Over half term we had a wonderful few days away. Brussels really is a great place for a city break.

Busy weekend part 2

I did manage a quick visit to Ikea on the Saturday before going on the train. We have almost finished Craigs bedroom.

On the Sunday Margaret, Anne and I went for an autumnal walk at Westonbirt Arboretum. The trees were stunning but it was marred slightly by the cost to get in. £9 seems very steep. It was probably one of their busiest days but it is so big you felt you were almost on your own.

Busy weekend

The actors

More actors

Saturday night we had murder in mind. We went on the Avon Valley Railway Murder Mystery Night for a friends birthday. The actors were brilliant. The theme was halloween and some of the costumes of the guests were awesome. Most of us went as witches as it doesn't take much make-up!!!

Craft room

Here are some photos of my craft room. It still isn't tidy but it is getting there. On the desk are some wooden cutlery holders from Ikea. Last year they were in the classroom so are looking a bit tatty. They are perfect for storing my copics with plenty of room to buy more!! I love the fact that they stack and create a little shelf and you can put them upright to store rulers etc. In some of them I have put my ribbon that is wrapped around card. You may need to click on the images to see them clearly.
He won!!! Are you wondering what I am talking about? Dales football team won a match, 2-0. The first league game in 2 years. Yay!! AND he scored a goal.

Look what I made with some of the stuff from the Newbury show.

Did you see who won the lovely blog candy in the last post? It was me. I haven't had time to do anything other than stroke it yet but I am planning a card making day tomorrow.

A couple of weekends ago, hubby and I had a few days away in beautiful Cornwall. We stayed at the same place we did on our wedding night 25 years previously. The weather was perfect and it was a very romantic time.

Cards using stickers

I bought some stickers quite a while ago and decided I would try and make some cards with them. I still have some stickers left.

On the boat

Rosie and Jim...Rosie and Jim...come on sing along. We had a fantastic holiday on the Llangollen canal. Bit scary along the aqueduct.

Craft day

This is what my dining room and living room looked like yesterday when some of my friends came over for a crafting session.

A very hot curry!

What a busy weekend so far. On Friday I went out for lunch with my crafty friend Anne. I did get a great photo of her at the garden centre but promised not to put it on here!! We then went for a walk around Lacock. It was really lovely and we saw a couple coming out of the church all loved up and newly married. I do think they may look at the photos in years to come and ask 'What the...' when they see what some people were wearing!

Yesterday hubby and I went for a bike ride of 9 miles. We beat the time we set last week which was amazing as it was very breezy and I struggled at times.

Then we went down to Bristol on the train to the Harbour festival. The food and drink was extortionate but all the entertainment was brilliant and it is a free event.

Friday 30 July 2010

Just thought I would put a link to one of my favourite sites so you can see some scrummy pics from the CHA show.

Guy cards

Here are some cards made especially for the boys. (Including Fathers day as I hadn't posted them before)!

Cherry picking

What do you do with tons of cherries? First you pick them, then you stone them and then you make them into pies and crumbles. After that you put them in bags and give them to the neighbours. I would like to say that this is what I did all day yesterday but that would be a fib. Darling hubby and youngest son spent most of the day up the tree or in the garden. Then they made a scrummy crumble and sorted the rest so we could freeze them or give them away. We need to clear the tree before the starlings come and vandalise it. Last year we still had loads of cherries and about 100 starlings flew into the tree. You couldn't see a single bird but it was shaking as they pulled all the cherries off.

Newbury show

I have just got back from the Newbury show. Here are a couple of pics of my purchases. Luckily everything was half price. (Hubby sometimes reads this)!!
I also got some embossing folders and some magazines.

Sunday 30 May 2010

Just bought the latest copy of Simply Cards and Papercraft and I have a card in the Readers gallery again. The first time was a couple of months ago (I did blog it) and then in issue 70 I was in the Best of British cardmaking booklet and now again. This will be the last time as I haven't sent in any other cards but I think I might. Thought you might like to see the images.

Happy Birthday to ya...I am singing this Stevie Wonder style.

I have to post a picture of the card as I don't know if the card got there in time. Not my fault. The card was all ready to post on Friday lunch time when I ended up spending most of the afternoon sat on the motorway (M4 and M5). My friends partner had been involved in an accident and had to be picked up. (She was a bit too shaken to drive). Thankfully everyone involved in the accident wasn't badly hurt.

This card is for my lovely mum who is NOT 88 but I needed to put that number on to make the joke work.

Friday 28 May 2010

This is a card I made with one of my at the moment favourite stamp sets. It is by Inkadinkado. I just love the guitar image and have created a few cards already but can't share as I know who I will be sending them to and it's not their birthdays until August and September!

Fancy some blog candy?

Saturday 20 March 2010

Last Sunday I had the best Mothering Sunday. My mum and dad were here visiting and when I got back from watching Dale play football, there was a scrummy dinner being cooked. This is my boys and the lovely roast lamb. (My favourite roast).

Sunday 14 March 2010

You've heard of WAGS. Well meet the MAG's. (Mothers and Grannys)! We have just watched Dale play football and dad captured this odd looking pair.

Sunday 14 February 2010

Guess what? Go on guess.

You'll never get it.

I have been published in a real magazine. I am in the readers gallery of issue 68 of Simply Cards and Papercraft. I have been very excited but when I bought my copy from Smiths the guy behind the counter didn't seem too keen for me to do a signing session.

Tuesday 19 January 2010

In December, the lovely Mrs Goddard left the school I work in. She was one of those teachers that is naturally brilliant and managed to get the best out of every pupil. It was a real pleasure being her TA. This is a photo of the flowers she gave me on her last day. How clever of her to know they went with my Christmas plates which she has never seen!!

Some before photos of the craft room.

Saturday 2 January 2010

Happy New Year to you. Who has resolutions? I don't bother with them too much but 2010 will have to see a thinner me as I have become quite tubby over the Christmas holidays. Darling husband started his healthy eating yesterday but has already tried to con his way to an Ikea breakfast!!!

Before Christmas my craft room was dug out and Gary put a new work top in for me. It isn't quite sorted yet but I am slowly trying to find homes for everything. The wardrobe has gone but I still need some shelves put up. Pictures to follow.
