Fathers day present

I made my dad a glasses case and corner bookmark for Fathers Day.

Cornwall

Last month we had a few days down in Cornwall.  The weather was HOT every day.  We got out on our little boat and took it to St Mawes.  (In between Donna and I is Chompy).  St Mawes has visitor moorings so we took the opportunity to visit The Rising Sun and have a walk around before taking a slow journey back to Truro.  We were a little longer getting back as we had to tow some people back to the marina as they had run out of fuel.

This is us going over to the Isles of Scilly.  The Minnack theatre is just above Dale's head and the beach we visited a few days before is to the left of Gary's head.

A quick visit to St Michael's Mount.  We went over on the boat but walked back across the causeway.  However, we were a little quick setting off and had to paddle in a few places.  The weather was hot but the sea was cold.

Village wedding

Had a reason last week to put on some glad rags and dress up.  Our friends Dave and Jean got married.

Minack Theatre

We have visited the theatre to have a look round before but when we booked tickets a few years ago it was rained off.  We decided to try again and got tickets to see a production of The Vicar of Dibley.  It was really funny and the weather was perfect.  My favourite bit was when Alice did her 'you know I can't believe it's not butter'.

They also did bits between the acting.  This is a photo from the beginning when they are setting the scene of the Dibley Fete.

A card for dad

It was my dads birthday a month ago and this is the card I made for him.

Portsmouth

Had a lovely tour of Portsmouth with my in-laws a few weeks ago.  We ended up at a pub called Still and West where my father in law had his stag night.  (Many years ago)!  Needless to say it has changed a great deal.  We consumed some tasty fish and chips in there. It was nice having a different view of Spinnaker tower.  (This was taken close to where we parked).

Easter wreath

I made this to decorate our front door.  I managed to pick up a mixture of wool from a charity shop that included this lime green.  I wrapped it around a wreath and then used pins to secure some fabric daisies.  The chicks were from a pound shop and the ribbon is what I had in my stash.

Male card

I made this card last year for my father in law.

I made the shed using the wood stamp from Stampin up and the image came from an old craft magazine that I have been reluctant to cut into.

I'm not someone who makes new years resolutions but I am planning on using up some of my craft stash this year.  I have some beautiful stuff but have always been reluctant to use it.  I think the theory being 'I won't be able to replace it' but as there is so many wonderful products out there, I need to use the stuff I have so I can buy more.

pompoms

Happy new year to you.

Don't you just love the word pompom?  If your answer is no then we can't be friends!  This Christmas I made some from netting so I could put them outside.  I used a pompom maker and they came together really quickly.  They were dangled on the branches of the acer along with some lights and beads.
