It has all been decorated up ready for Christmas and looks really cosy. You may notice the toasting fork on the left hand side of the fireplace. This is also a new addition to the house and we also use the slightly altered phrase from burn it to burnt it!!

Cottage all Christmassy
Got the wood burner fitted a couple of weeks ago and since then we have become mini arsonists. The phrase 'burn it' is uttered a lot around here!!! We have also learnt that the saying 'there is no smoke without fire' is untrue. There has been many a time that the whole living room is filled with smoke but not a flicker of a flame can be located in the fireplace.

Lol - we call those incidents "smoke outs" usually when just starting the fire, it needs to burn hot to encourage the draw of the chimney, a window open helps the draw as well - we have all draft proofed too well!!! Ours is because ours vents to the back so our smoke goes back hits the back of the chimney (where there is a cleaning vent) and then should go up the chimney - however if its cold/no wind then when it hits the back of the cleaning vent it cools the smoke too much sending it back into the room rather than up the chimney.
Your cottage looks very homely and cosy.
